As a new internet marketer or even one who has tried your hand at it but has been singularly unsuccessful here are some first straight forward and uncomplicated steps to follow towards creating an action plan that is easy to work on.

The first step is to check whether you have the equipment such as a computer and access to the internet readily available. This business is not going to work if you depend on the internet café down the road. You will need to spend every available minute working this business. One hour in the library using a computer is just not going to cut it.

Your second step is to honestly look at the commitments that you have. Do you really have time for this? If you already work a full time job and have small children the chances that you will have serious amounts of time to spend on an internet marketing project are fairly remote. That is if you want to still have time to sleep! This doesn’t mean that it is not possible to be successful; it just means you need to be focused and efficient. It will be a short term sacrifice but the long term gain will be absolutely worth it. It is very possible to grow a thriving business with just 3 hours a day.

If you have both the equipment and the confidence that you have the time to spend on this then start checking out what home businesses opportunities are available. Some think that MLM is a scam. This couldn’t be further from the truth; there is obviously money to be made in multi-level marketing.

There are thousands of companies to choose from so that makes it hard to decide which one to join. Choose a company you can get excited about. One of the easiest ways to make money in MLM is to have a product that doesn’t require an explanation. This means that there is a general knowledge that they could benefit from this product or service. I do not actively promote a juice company online though I am a part of one because of all the competition out there and that it would require me to explain why my product is better than the others. Not exactly the position I would like to be in. Plus juices really require sampling in person cause a lot rides on the taste as well.

This company should also be profitable. I realize every company out there claims that they have the latest and greatest comp plan where you can basically profit just by breathing. An important part here is to do your research and see who their top earners are. Are they seasoned network marketers (most probably are) or are they brand new to the industry.

Your next step is marketing. Because MLM is just like any other business it requires marketing to survive. Why do you think 97% of people fail at network marketing? It is because they do not understand this. To have a successful business where you actually get paid for your efforts you need to have marketing plans beyond flyers, brochures, face to face, or DVD’s. These tactics do work but not to the effect that mass advertising methods do.
